John Blust was a vital part of the Republican majority, which took control of the North Carolina Legislature in the 2010 elections. A $3 billion budget shortfall (from excessive spending under the Democrats) was turned into a large surplus through spending restraint, tax reduction, tax reform, and regulatory reform. These actions resulted in impressive economic growth, and tens of thousands of jobs had been created in North Carolina by the time John left office at the end of 2018.

- Improve school safety to protect students and teachers.
- University education reform to defund DEI and to require academic freedom – not indoctrination.

- Clarify emergency powers of the state to prohibit rule by decree by the governor.
With the southern border totally open, every state, including North Carolina, has become a border state. We must look at enacting a Texas-like law to empower North Carolina law enforcement to arrest and deport those illegally here.
